  • Managing financial resources, reporting, payroll and procurement.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and financial integrity.
  • Supervising accounting, accounts receivable and payable functions.

President

Visionary Leadership

The President oversees the overall direction of the Institute, ensuring alignment with the goals set by the Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing strategies and policies to achieve institutional goals.
  • Navigating the needs of multiple constituency groups by cultivating strong, collaborative relationships within The Bahamas as well as regionally and globally.
  • Monitoring budget, financial activities and performance indicators.
  • Driving organisational efficiency and effectiveness.

Vice President

Technical Leadership

The Vice President supports long-term institutional planning, fostering innovative and high-quality technical and vocational programmes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading discussions on strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Ensuring BTVI’s mission, vision and strategy are reflected across all departments.
  • Promoting quality teaching and engaged learning.
  • Facilitating the development of programmes which align with the institution’s mission, vision and strategic direction as well as business and industry needs and standards.

Associate Vice President, Grand Bahama and the Family Islands

Regional Leadership

The AVP for Grand Bahama and the Family Islands leads administrative functions at the Grand Bahama Branch Campus and Family Island campuses. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring adherence to comprehensive accounting principles and governmental accounting standards, statutory accounting requirements and BTVI’s fiscal policies, processes and procedures.
  • Coordinating with Institute-wide departments - human resources, building and grounds, maintenance and security, information technology and auxiliary services - to improve systems and services.

Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs

Academic Excellence

The AVP of Academic Affairs drives curriculum review and development and faculty management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, developing and revising academic programmes.
  • Ensuring compliance with BTVI’s policies, procedures and protocols and with accreditation and licensure requirements.
  • Supporting students and faculty with advising, grade appeals and academic concerns.

Associate Vice President, Administrative Services

Strategic Partnerships

The AVP of Administrative Services drives operational efforts across the Human Resources, Facilities and the Health and Safety Departments in support of BTVI’s growth and excellence. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing a robust recruitment and retention process to attract and retain top-tier talent.
  • Supporting performance evaluation processes and providing guidance on employee development.
  • Ensuring that the payroll and benefits systems are carried out in accordance with institutional policy and are maintained as required.
  • Overseeing the industrial relations process, including employee relations, grievances and disciplinary actions in line with legal and organisational guidelines and in conjunction with Executive Management.
