At BTVI, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our students who have successfully completed their programme requirements. Our annual Graduation Ceremony marks the culmination of their hard work and dedication. This event, held at the end of the spring semester, honors students who have earned degrees, diplomas, certificates, awards and honors.
Eligibility to Graduate
To be considered for graduation and receive a degree, diploma, certificate, or award from BTVI, students must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum GPA: A cumulative GPA of 2.00 for all courses attempted in the major programme of study.
- Completion of Requirements: Completion of all course and programme requirements in the summer, fall, or spring semester before graduation.
- Remaining Course/Internship: Students who have one course or internship left to complete must be enrolled in that course or internship during the summer of the year in which they intend to graduate.
- Academic Clearance: Clearance must be received from the Head of Department and relevant Dean.
Intention to Graduate
Students must formally declare their intent to graduate by completing the following steps:
- Submit Graduation Application: Submit a completed Graduation Application Form to the Office of the Registrar, along with the degree audit or programme of study by:
- Week 15 of the fall semester, or
- Week 13 of the spring semester, or as specified in the Academic Calendar.
- Pay Graduation Fee: A non-refundable graduation fee must be paid.
- Clear All Financial Obligations: Ensure that all financial obligations to BTVI are satisfied.
Evaluation of Graduation Application
After submitting the application, the Office of the Registrar will evaluate the Graduation Application. Once reviewed and approved by the relevant Academic Dean, the Vice President of Academic Affairs and the Board of Directors, the list of candidates for graduation will be posted on the BTVI website. Your individual student record will also be updated to reflect the graduation date and any honors received.
Participation in the Graduation Ceremony
Students may participate in the Graduation Ceremony if they meet the following criteria:
- Completed Graduation Application: The application must be submitted by the specified deadline.
- Financial Clearance: Students must have satisfied all financial obligations to BTVI. Participation in the ceremony and receipt of your degree/diploma/certificate is contingent upon securing financial clearance.
- Completion of Requirements: All course and programme requirements must be completed, or students may have one course or internship left to finish (must be enroled in it during the summer before graduation).
Please note that participation in the ceremony does not automatically confirm the completion of all program requirements. Additionally, the graduation program cannot be considered an official list of BTVI graduates as final evaluation of credits and grades may occur after the ceremony.
Issuance of Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates
- Degrees, diplomas and certificates will be issued by the Office of the Registrar approximately four weeks after the date on which they are conferred.

- Academic Awards and Honors: Students who achieve academic excellence may be eligible for awards and honors, which will be detailed during the graduation ceremony.
- Graduation Gown Measurement Chart: Ensure that you have your gown measurements submitted by the specified deadline to participate in the ceremony.
Academic Awards and Honours
To be eligible for academic honours and awards, students must have completed all course and programme requirements. Students enroled in professional development or special interest courses or programmes are not eligible for academic honours or awards.

- Be enroled in 12 or more credit hours each fall and spring semester.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 to 4.00.

- Be enroled in 12 or more credit hours each fall or spring semester.
- Have a semester GPA of 3.00 or above.
Compiled at the end of each academic year. To be eligible, students must:
- Be enroled in 12 or more credit hours each fall and spring semester.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 to 3.74.
- Meet all programme credit hour requirements.
Compiled at the end of each academic year. To be eligible, students must:
- Be graduating from a degree, diploma, or certificate programme.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75.
- Be nominated by an instructor.
- Be approved by BTVI’s administration.
- Meet local and national membership standards.
Compiled at the end of each academic year. To be eligible, students must:
- Be graduating with an associate degree.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
- Have made significant contributions to the Department responsible for their programme of study.
Compiled at the end of each academic year. To be eligible, students must:
- Be graduating from a degree, diploma, or certificate programme.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
- Have the highest GPA of over 3.00 in their major.
