Our History
The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute was established by an Act of Parliament in April 2010 to come into operation on July 1, 2011. BTVI is rooted in a legacy of technical and vocational education dating back to the establishment of The National Technical School in 1949. Over the decades, the institution has evolved and expanded, cementing its position as the nation’s premier provider of technical education and training.
With campuses in New Providence, Grand Bahama, and Andros, as well as instructional sites across The Bahamas, BTVI offers a diverse range of programmes that equip students for today’s rapidly evolving workforce.
