At BTVI, we understand that preparing for the workforce is a crucial part of your academic journey. Our Career Services Office is committed to assisting you with all your employment needs, starting from when you enroll and continuing throughout your academic career. We provide personalized support to help you succeed in finding the right opportunities and preparing for life after graduation.
Career Services Offerings
Our Career Services are designed to provide you with the resources, guidance and support necessary to help you transition from education to employment.
Our services include:- Job Search and Placement Resources: We connect you with job opportunities, help you with job applications and provide tips for a successful job search.
- On-Campus Recruitment Programmes: Gain access to job/internship opportunities through recruitment drives hosted by BTVI and our partner organizations.
- Employment Advising: Personalized guidance on career development, resume writing, interview preparation and more.
- Internships, Apprenticeships, and Attachments: Opportunities for practical experience, helping you gain valuable skills that employers are looking for.
- Resume Referrals: Once your resume is approved, we’ll send it to potential employers on your behalf to increase your chances of securing a job.
- Job Reference Letters: Obtain job reference letters based on your internship, apprenticeship or attachment experience.
Employment Advising
Our Employment Advising services provide personalized one-on-one counseling to help you prepare for your career journey. We assist with:
- Resume and Cover Letter Development: Learn how to craft effective resumes and cover letters that stand out to potential employers.
- Networking: Gain valuable strategies to build a professional network and connect with industry leaders.
- Online Job Searches: Get advice on how to efficiently use online job platforms to find the right opportunities.
- Job Applications: Receive guidance on filling out job applications and standing out in a competitive market.
- Interview Techniques: Practice your interview skills with experts to ensure you perform confidently during job interviews.
Internships, Apprenticeships and Attachments
BTVI offers Internships, Apprenticeships and Attachments as part of your academic programme. These experiences allow you to apply your classroom knowledge in a real-world setting and develop the practical skills that employers value.
- Registration: You are required to register for your internship, apprenticeship or attachment when enrolling in your final classes.
- Grading: Upon completion, you will receive a grade for your practical experience. Students who do not achieve a grade of “C” or better will be required to repeat the experience.
- Account Holds: Please note that if there are any holds on your student account, you will not be allowed to register for the internship, apprenticeship or attachment until the hold is cleared.
Job Reference Letters
At BTVI, we understand the importance of Job Reference Letters. Upon request, you can obtain a job reference letter based on your performance during an internship, apprenticeship or attachment. Please note that students with holds on their accounts will not be able to obtain a job reference letter until the hold has been lifted.
Job Search and Placement
- We provide Job Search and Placement services to help you secure both part-time employment during your studies and full-time employment after graduation.
- Part-time Jobs: If you’re looking for part-time employment while you’re enrolled in your program, we can assist you in finding opportunities that fit your schedule.
- Full-time Jobs: After graduation, our career services team will help you navigate the full-time job market, connect with employers and provide the resources you need to succeed.
- Job Placement Appointments: Contact the Career Services Office to schedule a one-on-one session for help with job search strategies and placement.
On-Campus Recruitment Programme
Our On-Campus Recruitment Programme connects students and graduates with potential employers through national and international partnerships. This program provides you with access to job placements, internships, and study abroad opportunities.
Through these partnerships, BTVI is able to facilitate recruitment drives and career fairs, helping you connect directly with hiring organizations.
Resume Referrals
Once your resume is developed and approved, we’ll assist you by sending it to a variety of businesses, expanding your job opportunities.
As part of the graduation requirements, all students are expected to leave an updated resume with the Career Services Office. This ensures that we have your latest qualifications and employment history for future job placement opportunities.
