BTVI’s open house, slated for 6th February 2026 at its main campus, Old Trail Road, will be an immersive experience that includes Beauty Trades, Business Trades, Construction and Mechanical Trades, Electronics and Media Technology, Fashion Trades, and Information and Communications Technology. Students and faculty will be actively engaged in their craft, bringing technical education to life.
The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute is preparing to open its doors to the community for its spring open house on 6th February 2026, reaffirming its commitment to developing a skilled, competitive workforce that supports national development and individual success.
Under the theme, ‘True Blue and You,’ the open house – that is admission-free – is designed to give prospective students, parents and community stakeholders an inside look at BTVI and all it has to offer.
To be held at its main campus, Old Trail Road 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., visitors will be able to interact with faculty, students, Recruitment Officers, visit information booths and participate in scheduled activities inclusive of live demonstrations and Do-It-Yourself workshops. The event will also feature live entertainment and giveaways.
According to Admissions Officer Paulette Richardson, the event reflects BTVI’s mission to empower individuals through practical skills training, workforce readiness and lifelong learning. She said it goes beyond recruitment and serves as an educational experience, allowing the public to understand the training BTVI provides as an internationally accredited institution.
“The open house allows prospective students to move beyond brochures and websites by directly engaging with instructors, current students and others, gaining realistic insight into programme expectations, career pathways, certification outcomes and enrolment requirements. This will enable them to make confident, informed decisions about their educational future. It also provides a low-pressure opportunity to explore multiple fields in one place,” stated Ms. Richardson.
The immersive experience will include Beauty Trades, Business Trades, Construction and Mechanical Trades, Electronics and Media Technology, Fashion Trades, and Information and Communications Technology. Students and faculty will be actively engaged in their craft, bringing technical education to life.
Further, the trade departments will enhance the visitor experience through coupons designed to extend the open house experience beyond the event itself.
“These coupons provide attendees with access to select services from BTVI trade areas, allowing them to experience the practical value of technical training firsthand. They also serve as an incentive for continued engagement, encouraging prospective students to return to campus and explore programmes more deeply,” said Ms. Richardson.
Ms. Richardson’s hope is that attendees leave with a clear understanding that BTVI is a place where ambition meets opportunity.
“The key message is that technical and vocational education is a powerful, respected and practical pathway to success, and that BTVI is committed to supporting every student’s journey from exploration to employment. True Blue and You reflects our belief that there is a place at BTVI for everyone willing to learn, grow and achieve,” she stated.
