Dual Enrolment at The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI)

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) offers high school students the chance to get an early start on their technical and vocational careers through Dual Enrolment. By enrolling in BTVI’s technical and vocational programmes while still in high school, students can earn valuable credits toward a certificate, diploma, or degree programme. This early exposure allows students to gain employability skills and prepare for a successful career or transition directly into higher education upon graduation.

How Do Students Register for Dual Enrolment?

To participate in Dual Enrolment at BTVI, students must follow these steps:

  1. Obtain Written Consent:
    • A signed consent from the student's parent or legal guardian is required.
  2. Submit Required Documents via the BTVI Web Portal:
    • Dual Enrolment Application for Admission form.
    • Letter of Consent from parent/legal guardian, along with a copy of their government-issued photo identification.
    • Valid E-passport: A copy of the relevant pages, including expiration date and student’s personal information (name and date of birth).
    • National Insurance Board (NIB) Smart Card.
    • Valid Police Certificate issued within the last 6 months.
    • Official High School Transcript.
    • Copies of Academic Certificates (BJC, BGCSE, SAT, CXC, or others).
    • Completed BTVI Medical Form.
    • Receipt of Payment for the non-refundable BTVI application processing fee.
  3. Acceptance into BTVI:
    • Once accepted, students can enrol in technical and vocational courses. The credits earned will count towards a relevant BTVI certificate, diploma, or degree programme.
    • Dual Enrolment students are not permitted to register for courses that take place between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00pm.
