POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, People (Chief Human Resources Officer) is a senior management role responsible for modernising, leading and delivering BTVI’s human resource strategy, systems and people development agenda.
The Director will lead the transition from manual HR processes to a fully digitised, data-driven HR environment, while strengthening workforce capability through structured training, performance management recognition systems and industrial relations and other HR matters.
This role ensures that BTVI attracts, develops and retains a high-performing workforce aligned with institutional priorities, while maintaining compliance, operational efficiency and a positive employee experience.

Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Master’s Degree is an asset
- Experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles
- Proven experience implementing HR systems and digital transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Talent management and workforce development
- Performance management systems
- Policy development and compliance
- Experience in an educational or public sector environment is an asset
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong technical proficiency in HR systems and digital tools
- Ability to lead organisational change and process improvement
- Excellent writing, communication and policy development skills
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability
- High level of professional judgment, confidentiality and integrity
- Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organisation
- Strong organisational and project management skills
