Tuition & Fees

All fees are to be paid at the Student Accounts Office, located in the J block.

PAYMENT OF FEES
Fees are assessed by semester and are due on or before the Friday following registration. BTVI accepts payment by cheque, money order, Visa or MasterCard. Cheques or money orders should be made payable to Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute.

Non-payment of fees will result in cancellation of your registration at BTVI. Applications and registrations for students with accounts outstanding will not be processed.

The Institute withholds all issuance of grades, awarding of diplomas/certificates, issuance of transcripts and granting honourable dismissal to any student whose account is in arrears.

APPLICATION FEE
All students are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $26.88. This is a one -time only processing fee.

REGISTRATION
The registration fee for Bahamian students is $195 plus Value Added Tax (VAT) per semester and $375 plus VAT per semester for non-Bahamian students. Non-Bahamian students are also required to pay $50 per credit for Associate degree programs and for non-Bahamian students, it is $75 per credit for Associate degree programs. The registration fee covers the students ID, insurance and administration charges.

Prior to registration, accepted students are encouraged to pay the entire registration fee.

BOOKS AND SUPPLIES
Students are required to purchase the required tools, kits, uniforms and books for their classes.

GRADUATION
Assessed regardless of participation in exercises; no reduction will be made for non-attendance. The assessed fee includes a lifetime membership in the BTVI Alumni Association. Graduation petition and fee of $175 are due on the designated date outlined on the Academic Calendar. This is a non-refundable fee and is valid for one (1) year only.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/INDUSTRY TRAINING CLASSES
Fees for the professional development classes are advertised when the classes are being offered. Persons interested in taking these classes must pay the fees in full, unless otherwise indicated. This is a one- time fee that includes your training and your certificate upon completion. Refunds are only available if the class is canceled by the institution.

FEE REFUND
Refunds are calculated on the basis of the official date of withdrawal from BTVI. Refund of fees will be made only upon written application for withdrawal from the school within the refund period:

• 90% before the first scheduled day of class.
• 80% after the first scheduled day of class up to the end of the first week.
• 50% during the second week of class

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES

• 90% before the first scheduled day of class.
• 80% after the first scheduled day of class up to the end of the first week of class.

Withdrawals thereafter will not receive a refund. NO REFUNDS ON BOOKS

Students who are required to withdraw from a programme automatically forfeit any right to a refund under this section.
