Associate of Applied Science Degree Programmes
- Electronics Engineering Installers and Repairers
- Media Technology
The Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Installers and Repairers is designed for students
desiring to learn about the field of electronics. Students examine areas such as analog and digital circuits,
computers, instrumentation, communications, microprocessors, cabling and fiber optic systems. Additionally,
students are prepared for hardware and A+ software certification and CompTIA Network Plus certification.
The Associate of Applied Science in Media Technology provides students with the knowledge, skills and expertise
essential for work in the creative and competitive field of media technology. Students are exposed to a blend of
theoretical and practical training such as video, television and audio production. As a result, they are able to
enter the field as an audio or video technician, videographer, audio editor, on-air producer or lighting
assistant.
Certificate Programmes
- Electronics & Cable Installation
- Certificate in Media Technology
The Certificate in Electronics & Cable Installation provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to
install and test computer network cables. Students are prepared for employment as cable installers, testers and
technicians. The programme also provides supplemental training to persons previously or currently employed in
these occupations. More specifically, graduates of this programme are able to use the various types of precision
test equipment in general use throughout the electronics industry to analyse, troubleshoot and repair electronic
circuitry. Students also are prepared for CompTIA Network Plus certification. Full-time students can complete this
programme in 18 months.
The Certificate in Media Technology is a blend of theoretical and practical training that prepares students to
pursue a career in the media industry. Students develop a strong foundation in the skills and knowledge essential
for this industry. This prepares them to enter the field as production assistants, audio console operators,
videographers, cameramen, camerawomen, video editors or lighting assistants.
