BTVI’s Position on Philanthropic Giving
BTVI commits to keeping donors apprised of what we are doing, how your contributions have assisted and how you can become further involved in our ongoing initiatives. We realize that an informed donor will remain an engaged donor and we will endeavour to inform and engage you year round.
We do not support, nor do we engage in any type of coercion or harassing fundraising tactics. We respect your wishes (as a donor) and will ensure that we follow your instructions as outlined to us.
Who can give?
At BTVI, we welcome gifts from all groups. Individuals, corporate sponsors, foundations, alumni, faculty members, staff members and existing students may all give. Every dollar is important to us, and we welcome your contribution.
Why should I give?
Apart from receiving personal gratification when contributing to such a worthy cause, your gift – when pooled with others – will allow us to continue to provide world class technical and vocational training to our students. In addition to assisting with scholarship and financial aid, it will help us to continually develop and improve our programs, purchase much needed material and equipment, help to defray operational cost and assist with funding capital project initiatives (e.g. cost of new construction, building renovations, additions, purchase of office and plant equipment).
How often may I give?
You may give as often as you like. Apart from your usual gift to our annual fund, you may wish to give in commemoration of a special event in your life or the life of a loved one. Call us and let’s talk about it!
How do I give?
Giving is easier than you think.
Give by Check
You will make checks payable to Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute (BTVI) and deliver to the Fund Development Office located in the H Block at BTVI on Old Trail Road, New Providence, Bahamas. You are asked to complete our donation form and attach to your check to ensure that we use your gift specifically as you request. If it is more convenient for you, check collection can be arranged.
Give through Planned Gifting
Gifting doesn’t have to end at death. At BTVI we may accept bequests (i.e. transfers of wealth that occur upon a donor’s death). Bequests may take several forms and we invite you to contact us to discuss the planned gifting options available to you.
Give by Credit Card
The online donation option is not in effect at this time. Once this option is enabled, however, we assure you that all necessary security precautions will be instituted to safeguard against credit card fraud.
Give items other than Cash
Gifts accepted are not restricted to cash only. Give us a call to discuss your gifting idea today!
