CARPENTRY
Program Description:
The Carpentry program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare the student to enter the workforce. The skills, knowledge, and attitudes to be acquired by students are found in the course syllabi. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Certificate in Carpentry is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

To enter the program students are required to have Mathematics and English BJC with grades of C or above. It may be necessary for students to enroll in preparatory English and Math if they do not possess the requisite entry requirements.
Period of Candidacy
Students must complete all requirements within five (5) years. Students that do not comply with this rule will be required to start the program over including previously passed courses. Students requesting exemption from courses previously completed must possess a grade of B or higher.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
Program Description:
The Electrical Installation program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare the student to enter the workforce. The skills, knowledge, and attitudes to be acquired by students are found in the course syllabi. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Certificate is awarded in Electrical Installation for successful completion of the program.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Program Description:
The Maintenance Technician program is designed to prepare students to be proficient in property operations as it will expose them to various disciplines in building maintenance. Persons completing this program can have careers as room technicians, general maintenance technicians, and shift engineers in-service properties. This is a full-time program for a period of one academic year. The Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute Certificate in Maintenance Technician will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.

MASONRY
Program Description:
The Masonry program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare the student to enter the workforce at an entry level. Students will receive instructions about masonry techniques inclusive of materials used, mixing mortar, laying masonry units, block and brick making and block laying. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Certificate in Masonry is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

PLUMBING
Program Description:
This program is designed to develop skills knowledge and attitudes that are needed in the plumbing trade. Students will learn the various types of plumbing fixtures and their function. They will also learn the proper installation, maintenance and servicing of fixtures; pipe and fittings required in drainage waste and ventilation (DWV) and water distribution systems. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Certificate in plumbing is awarded upon successful completion of the program.
