Grand Bahama and the Family Islands

The island of Grand Bahama is on its way to becoming the technology hub of The Bahamas and is the island of The Bahamas with a variety of industries. BTVI’s Grand Bahama Branch Campus is located in Freeport, Grand Bahama – a strategically located island in The Bahamas which serves as the gateway to the Americas.

Located on Settlers Way and Peachtree Street with some 20 full-time instructors and staff, this Campus oversees Grand Bahama and Family Island applicants and students. Before Hurricane Dorian, a BTVI Centre had been located in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, with some 70+ students. We are pleased that BTVI has been able to re establish a presence through its Extension Campus on the island of Abaco as well as Eleuthera and Exuma. Additionally, there are Instructional Centres in North Andros and Moore’s Island.

Although able to offer all of BTVI’s programmes, the Grand Bahama Branch Campus focuses on industry and information communications and technology training. General programme offerings include Associate of Applied Science Degrees in Office Administration, Office Technology, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering as well as Certificates and/or Diplomas in Construction, Automotive and Electrical Trades, Office Assistant, Information Technology and Electronics.  Professional Development Courses are offered on the basis of demand, but the more popular courses are Single Phase Electrical, Nail Technology, QuickBooks and Face Care and Make-Up Application.

Industry based and customised initiatives on which the Grand Bahama Branch Campus focuses are the Freeport Container Port Engineering, Trade Helpers, Grand Bahama Shipyard Applied Science and Information and Communications Technology programmes.

The BTVI Grand Bahama Branch Campus considers itself quite resilient. We strongly believe in BTVI’s mantra: “BTVI Strong!”
