Office of the President

BTVI Mace

The Office of the President is responsible for building upon BTVI’s excellent record of success. This office serves as the primary point of contact for national and international private or public industries seeking information, resources and solutions for workforce education and training in The Bahamas.

The public face and voice of the institution, the Office of the President, navigates the needs of multiple constituency groups, developing strong, collaborative relationships with other leaders, school districts and major employers in The Bahamas. Positioning the Institute to contribute towards nation building, this office provides strategic leadership and coordination for all aspects of the country’s workforce inclusive of instructional and economic development initiatives and implements partnerships to meet the needs of an expanding Bahamian economy.

As a result, the President of BTVI embodies the core values and principles of the Institute. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President oversees the overall direction of the Institute and ensures the development of strategies and policies which meet the goals set by the Board.

To ensure that BTVI continues to fulfil its mandate and achieve its mission, the President is responsible for building and leading a competent and responsive team of administrators, instructors and staff who continually seek to improve overall organisational efficiencies; strengthen existing programmes and develop new ones which align with BTVI’s academic and technical education curricula as well as with business and industry needs and standards; and who understand and support the needs of a diverse student body.
