The programmes in Information and Communications Technology help students develop practices and skills needed to function effectively in a technological environment. We help our students acquire the knowledge needed to work in the IT industry and provide numerous opportunities for hands-on learning experiences. Additionally, from entry-level support to intermediary technical specialty to advanced networking and software development, our IT programmes prepare students to sit internationally recognised certification exams at each level and function in any technical field relative to their preferred programme of study.

Information Technology Management
In the Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology (IT) Management, students acquire the knowledge and skills needed for careers in the IT industry. Students acquire soft and technical skills essential for providing customer support in a networked office and business environment. They learn to install and troubleshoot IT equipment, implement basic web applications and support users. They are also introduced to key project management principles and complete a 160-hour internship during which they gain practical hands-on experience. Additionally, students complete the industry recognised Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification examination and are eligible to sit internationally recognised certification examinations such as CompTIA IT Fundamentals, A+, Network+, Security+, Linux +, Project +, Microsoft Windows and Database Foundations.
Information Technology Network Engineering
The Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology (IT) Network Engineering provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to setup and maintain business computer networks and support and maintain specific networking environments. Students acquire hands-on experience in network installation and maintenance, administration and support and examine basic IT management concepts. They complete a 160-hour internship during which they acquire practical hand-on experience. Students also complete the industry recognised Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification examination and are eligible to sit internationally recognised certification examinations such as CompTIA IT Fundamentals, A+, Database Foundations, Certified Wireless Specialist (CWS) and Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA).
Information Technology Software Engineering
In the Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology (IT) Software Engineering, students acquire the knowledge and skills essential for supporting, developing, testing and maintaining specific software programs and apps. They focus specifically on software programming for desktop and web applications. Students complete a 160 hour internship during which they acquire practical hands-on experience as well as the industry recognised Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification examination. Additionally, students are eligible to sit internationally recognised certification examinations such as CompTIA IT Fundamentals and Linux+, Database Foundations, Java Foundations and Java Programmer.
Information Technology Support Specialist
In the Diploma in Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist programme, students are introduced to the internet and software programming for apps. They learn to configure, troubleshoot and maintain computer systems and networks; design, install, configure and maintain small and home office local area networks; and perform backups and disaster recovery. Students acquire soft skills in technical operational procedures and complete a 160-hour internship during which they acquire practical hands-on experience. Students also complete the industry recognised Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification examination and are eligible to sit the internationally recognised CompTIA IT Fundamentals and A+ certification examinations. The programme is designed to produce support technicians for small business environments conducting IT management tasks and prepares students for IT sales positions, service and support roles.
Information Technology Assistant
The Certificate (Level II) in Information Technology (IT) Assistant introduces students to the field of IT. Students acquire a working knowledge of computers, mobile devices, operating systems, internet applications and software programming. They complete a 160-hour internship during which they gain hands-on work experience, the industry recognised Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) certification examination and are eligible to sit the CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification examination. An excellent first step towards a career in IT, this programme is especially beneficial to individuals seeking entry level positions in small sales and service-oriented environments.
